In order to maintain the pleasant atmosphere here at The Duelists Elite Forum, I have created a general Forum Policy. This policy covers the basic Rules for forum behavior, and is an agreement all members are held to. Please note that by posting within The Duelists Elite Forum, you are consenting to follow the below rules. Those found in violation of the Forum Policy will be subject to administrative action.
Offensive remarks toward specific members, staff, or generalized groupings. Racial slurs, grossly BEEPual jokes, or excessive language (Cussing is OK when appropriate, but "sailor talk" will NOT be permitted.) Pornographic materials in any form, written or visual Copyrighted materials Instructions for illegal activities (i.e. downloading illegally) Advertisements or recruitment messages Messages solely in a language other than English Providing or linking to software viruses, Trojan horses, or any other computer code, files, or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment Posting or otherwise causing to appear on our board a reproduction of any of the following without permission from the creator: a work of graphic, photographic, cinematic, or literary art without proper citation of authorship or against the wishes of the author or authorized publisher. This includes direct linking or bandwidth theft Any violation of private property such as full names, residential or business address, phone numbers, social security numbers, credit card numbers, e-mail address, pictures of subject or subject's family/friends/pets/place of residence or employment/study, IP address, and any passwords
B. Both positive and negative comments are generally welcome. Negative comments should be made in a constructive manner.
C. Reports of a policy violation should be sent via personal message to the acting Moderator (Green names) of the area which the violation is in or alternatively to a Global Moderator (Blue names) or Administrators (Red names). Under no circumstances should reports be posted.
D. Should a situation occur where a member or staff has broken the policy or section rules, the administrative powers takes control. Other members should avoid posting, as they risk getting involved. This includes such posts as "This should be locked","Wrong board", and "Don't double post". Instead, members should report violations quickly as described in Part C.
E. When posting, consider grammar and spelling. The post should be readable and the message clear. Not doing so risks a misinterpretation by staff and other members.
F. Topic titles should not contain an excessive number of exclamation/question marks or be entirely capitalized (some exceptions are made).
G. Members should maintain a friendly and helpful manner toward others. Kindness helps to create potential solid members.
Personal Messages
A. Private Messages are subject to the rules of public posts. All material banned from public posts are subsequently banned from private messages. See Posting Part A for further explanation.
B. Recruitment for other forums, code/image requests and advertisements are strictly prohibited unless special permission is given by a member of the staff. Those found in violation of this will be given a warning.
C. DO NOT PM ME OR ANY STAFF MEMBER and ASK TO BE A MOD, IF I FEEL WE NEED A MOD I'LL LET YOU KNOW!!!!!
Member Profiles
A. Signatures and avatars must adhere to the posting rules described in Part A of the Posting section.
B. Any signatures who's size is considered too big will be removed. Signatures with animation excessive enough to slow the page will also be removed.
C. The staff reserve the right to remove signatures for any reason judged suitable by the OWNER.
Penalties
A. Posts which break policy may be removed, locked or edited by a staff member. Staff members will/should provide a reason before taking action. If a member is unsure whether their posting content is suitable, he or she should first read the Posting section of the Forum Policy. If still unsure, the member should private message a staff member. **Please be aware the locking of a post is not a severe punishment. Members are merely expected to learn from the mistakes.
B. Due to the new warning system, staff members are now able to institute a series of warnings. They appear in a red bar beneath member names and serve to allow the administration full consideration on a member's rights.
Only Administrators and Global Moderators can issue/increase/decrease a warning level. For Each Warning you are given an increase of 10% PER OFFENSE. For Each 30% Warning (30,60,90), the member will be temp banned for a length of time that is at the administration's discretion. A 100% warning level results in a PERMANENT ban. Warnings can be decreased if good behavior is shown. This is left to Son of Exodia's discretion ONLY. Each warning carries a note which members may view in his or her user notes.
C. Persistent offenders will be banned. The length of the ban is at the administration's discretion.
D. Those found evading bans will remain banned permanently unless under special circumstances.
E. The administration reserves the right to ban without warning in extreme cases.
F. Warning bar levels can be reduced by good behaviour, this is a minimum of 5% per month, and at the moment it is manual, so you would need to PM a GMod, any reduction is noted, so don't go round asking different gmods.
At the discretion of the Gmod, it may be reduced further, for instance if you are helpful to others (but not to a point that it becomes annoying, as this could increase your warning). examples of being helpful are: rating boards, doing graphic requests, etc (but always following the rules of that board)
Note: The The Duelists Elite Forum Staff have the right to change / add these rules without member's consent. Be advised. You may argue against a warning, but you better have good reasons and proof that you did not do anything wrong.
This will be updated periodically!!
Many thanks, The Duelists Elite Forum Staff

Tips and Hints to becoming Staff on The Duelists Elite Forum
So you've been hanging around The Duelists Elite™ Forum and you like what you see... and you've come to the conclusion that you'd like to be part of the staff team. Here are some guidelines on to achieve staff status:
NEVER PM ME OR ANY STAFF and ASK TO BE A MOD!
I ABSOLUTELY HATE IT, When Someone Asks Me Via Pm If They Can Be Staff. You Should Never Do This On Any Forum Ever!!
Contribute to the forum
This includes:
1. Reply to posts with the intention of not only replying to increase post counts but to contribute to the discussion positively and constructively. (Personally, I find it absolutely pointless to post a post with one word answer and such like: "lol".)
2. Follow all the rules and enforce them (...but don't act like you own the place either)
3. Start new thought-provoking/ interest-provoking topics.
Get on well with the other staff members and members of The Duelists Elite™ Forum in general
Ever heard of the saying "It's really not what you know, but who you know" ? Well that doesn't necessarily apply to The Duelists Elite™ Forum but I think setting a good impression with the current staff members wouldn't hurt your chances on getting a staff position.
It's great to see positive active threads and I think that can only happen if the people replying to them are in good terms. If you should have any type of animosity with another member of The Duelists Elite™ Forum, take it out of The Duelists Elite™ Forum, don't even PM the other person, either be the stronger person and ignore them or take it out of The Duelists Elite™ Forum.
Give Suggestions and Praises
Do you know how hard the staff members work to keep this place running smoothly? Believe me, it's certainly a bit of fresh air to hear people comment on the small changes and such of the forum.
This forum is for YOU, that's right, the staff does not have to be here but we all want to provide a resourceful place for all Yu-Gi-Oh Lovers. If you want to be part of the team, you need to have the same motivation. Seek experiences (and praises ) but make sure you have the mentality that it's not the power you're looking for but the opportunity to help others and the The Duelists Elite™ Forum community in general.
